On Wednesday, April 5, the Littleton Police Department (LPD) partnered with Littleton High School (LHS) to host the annual “Alive at 25” event. This is an engaging and interactive event focused on community safety and the dangers of impaired driving. It also highlighted local police policies, procedures, and tools.

Just under 300 high-school seniors participated in a variety of activities and presentations, such as wearing drunk goggles while driving tricycles, shooting basketballs, and experiencing field sobriety tests. These demonstrations simulated how much drugs and alcohol can impair an individual’s coordination and reflexes.

In addition to these activities, the program included K9 demonstrations and drone demonstrations. The K9 demonstrations showcased how police dogs can do many things such as detect illegal substances, protect officers, and track suspects. The drone demonstrations highlighted how drones can be used for accident reconstruction, locating suspects, and assisting in public safety.
