The Littleton Police Department (LPD) was made aware of information involving a Heritage High School student making threats of violence against the Heritage community. Upon receiving this information, our School Resource Officers (SRO) worked closely with our Investigations Team to quickly assess the credibility of the threat and began a thorough investigation.

The Heritage High School student was taken into custody this afternoon. We are coordinating closely with the 23rd Judicial District Attorney’s Office and Littleton Public Schools (LPS).

The investigation remains active and ongoing at this time, and no further information will be released.

This incident is a strong example of the proactive, preventive work our department undertakes every day to protect our community. It also highlights the critical importance of the SRO program and the relationships our SROs build within our schools.

Our top priority remains keeping our community, and especially our students, safe.
