Littleton Police Department Seeks Information in 2016 Homicide Case
Published on March 18, 2026
The Littleton Police Department (LPD) is renewing its call for information on the 10-year anniversary of the unsolved homicide of Jamie Albert Villarreal Jr.
In 2016, Villarreal was shot and killed in the parking lot of an office building in Littleton. A second victim, Villarreal’s work partner, attempted to flee the scene but was shot in the leg. He survived the attack and was able to provide investigators with information about the suspects.
Following the shooting, Villarreal’s truck, a Ford pickup with a snowplow attached, was stolen from the scene. The vehicle was later located abandoned and burned approximately one mile away near the intersection of South Broadway and West Jamison Avenue.
Based on the surviving victim’s description, detectives released a composite sketch of one of the suspects. Investigators also shared security video showing Villarreal’s plow truck driving through the area with both victims inside shortly before the shooting. In the same footage, two individuals are seen walking down the street who detectives believe may be responsible for the attack.
Nearly a decade later, Villarreal’s family is still seeking answers. He left behind two children, his fiancée, and many family members and friends who continue to grieve his loss.
The LPD urges anyone with information about this case, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward. Investigators believe there may still be individuals who know what happened that night.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Denver Metro Crime Stoppers or call (720) 913-STOP. Tips can remain anonymous.
Case investigators hope that renewed attention to this case will help bring justice and closure to Villarreal’s loved ones.
