The Littleton Police Department (LPD) received a call of Shots Fired just after 2:30 a.m. on April 22, 2026, near the intersection of West Ridge Road and South Bannock Street.
A victim was walking alone when he encountered occupants of a vehicle who confronted him aggressively. A shot was reportedly fired at the victim, who was not hit.
Officers responded immediately, canvassed the area, and located critical physical evidence. The investigation was supported by both technology and witness cooperation. Ring camera footage from a nearby resident captured a vehicle traveling eastbound on West Ridge Road, along with an audible loud “pop” around the time of the incident. Additionally, the FLOCK camera system (from a neighboring jurisdiction) was used to help with the investigation.
Later that day, detectives located a vehicle matching the victim’s description and were able to contact the suspect, 21-year-old Jayden Groves, who provided a detailed confession after being advised of his Miranda rights.
A search warrant was executed at the Groves’s residence, where officers recovered the firearm used in the crime, along with additional evidence.
Groves was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder and felony menacing.
