Memorial Day Closure

City of Littleton offices and facilities, including the Littleton Museum, the Municipal Court, and Bemis Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

Ammunition Disposal

The Littleton Police Department no longer has an ammunition disposal program. Please do not bring ammunition to the police department.

What to do with old ammunition

Some local gun ranges and gun stores will take your unwanted rounds and will dispose of them properly. Call the range or shop first to confirm they are collecting.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office accepts ammunition and firearms for destruction.

What not to do with old ammunition

Please do not throw ammunition in the trash. The trash truck's compactor could cause the cartridge to fire.
Please do not bury old ammunition. The lead found in many cartridges could leach into local water supply.
