In compliance with Colorado State Law, LPD released unedited video and audio recording of the Officer-Involved Shooting.

LPD has learned that the stolen motorcycle crashed after being contacted by a patrol vehicle, and did not crash of its own accord as was stated in the original release. 

 

UPDATE: 11:46a.m. February 3

The suspect in the February 2, Littleton Police Department (LPD) Officer Involved Shooting has been identified as Stephen Poolson Jr. Mug Shot of Stephen Poolson Jr.

Poolson is a 41-year-old white male. This continues to be an active investigation.

 

UPDATE: 5:01 a.m. February 2

The suspect is deceased.  

 

3:22 a.m. February 2

The Littleton Police Department (LPD) contacted a suspicious vehicle at 1:05 a.m. on Thursday, February 2, near the intersection of Bannock and Powers. The individual was driving a motorcycle and crashed. When the officer attempted to contact him, the individual ran and produced a gun. The LPD officer fired at the suspect. The suspect has been transported to the hospital; his condition is unknown at this time. The LPD officer is uninjured. This is an ongoing investigation and there is no current threat to the public.
